Now it's time to fine tune the leg before I make all six, I've got to consider the weight, first because its a race, so less weight meens more speed, also because I've using servo's to drive the leg and they have a limited amount of force they can use before they stall. On the right, is a virtual evolution of the leg joints. The first is my first effort in aluminium pieces, then an ideal representation using square section rod machined into shape, and finally what I had in my stock, a round section platic rod machined to form the correct section

When I've time I'll be drilling the holes in them for the tube and screws to got through Progress has been a little slow but with a bit of help from my Dad and my Son James we're getting there :) |
