Now it's time to fine tune the leg before I make all six, I've got to consider the weight, first because its a race, so less weight meens more speed, also because I've using servo's to drive the leg and they have a limited amount of force they can use before they stall.

On the right, is a virtual evolution of the leg joints. The first is my first effort in aluminium pieces, then an ideal representation using square section rod machined into shape, and finally what I had in my stock, a round section platic rod machined to form the correct section

 

 


And here is a photo of the bits so far. After a lot of messing around, my first efforts at milling :)

When I've time I'll be drilling the holes in them for the tube and screws to got through

Progress has been a little slow but with a bit of help from my Dad and my Son James we're getting there :)
